The initiative of establishment the Turkic Academy, which would have involved the study and the study of language, history and culture of the Turkic-speaking peoples, belongs to the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and it was the first proposed in October 2009 at the IX Summit of Heads of Turkic-speaking countries in Nakhichevan (Azerbaijan).
In 2010, the initiative of Kazakhstan gained its first real line: on May 25 in Astana at the Palace of Peace and Accord on the International Eurasian Congress “Turkic Civilization: thread of eras” Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced the opening of single science centre of the International Turkic Academy, congratulated with this event, scientists, journalists and guests. The congress was attended by Turkish President Abdullah Gul, as well as famous scientists Türkologists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, USA, Russia (Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Yakutia), Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.
Turkic Library – today fund of Turkic library is more than 15 000 books, rare manuscripts and valuable works. Many of them are devoted to the theme of the Turkic world, the history of Turkic and Turkic people. Personal fund of books by famous scholars turkologists Abduali Kaidar Abzhan Kuryshzhanovicha and also in the library. Electronic database of Turkic library is preparing. The library has a separate bookshelf for Turkic nationalities; in particular, you can find Kazakh, Turkish, Azeri, Uzbek, Turkic, Bashkir, and Tatar, Karachi, Khakas, Shubashi Kara kalpak and Nogai literature. Department of electronic resources of Turkic library was opened.
Turkic Museum – the museum you can see the relics that prove cultural heritage and spiritual values, made at different times. The museum is always filled with valuable exhibits. In the future time in the “Palace of Peace and Accord” build a complex museum exhibition of Turkic library. Beyond this, building of virtual museum of the Turkic world is planned, also accepted for the formation of a mobile exhibition complex
